Healthy And Cooling Herbal Iced Teas

Watermelon, cucumbers, and other fruits and vegetables are known for their ability to cool the body, therefore there are a number of herbs that have a cooling impact on the body. To keep ‘pitta’ from getting worse in the heat, these herbs have been employed in Indian cooking for thousands of years. Also, they aid in detoxification, digestion, and overall well-being.

To help you make iced teas this summer, we’ve compiled a list of healthful and refreshing herbs.

Lemon Balm Iced Tea

In the mint family, lemon balm is a lemon-scented herb that is noted for its cooling and calming properties. Aside from cooling you down on a hot summer day and providing immunity-boosting tannins and polyphenols, drinking lemon balm iced tea can also help alleviate symptoms like nausea and dizziness.

Ingredients                        Lemon Balm Iced Tea

  • Lemon balm leaves in a quarter cup.
  • One tablespoon (or more, if you choose) of honey.
  • Somewhere between 3 and 4 cups of water.
  • Cubes of ice.

Method

  • Bring the water to a boil.
  • Lemon balm leaves, honey, and boiling water are added to a jar.
  • 20 to 30 minutes of steeping are recommended.
  • Add ice cubes to an iced tea glass before pouring in the liquid.
  • Lemon juice can also be added to the iced tea to enhance its flavor.

Ginger Iced Tea

The use of ginger during the summer months is controversial. Ginger is most known for its ability to raise the body temperature or hyperthermia. However, it is also a natural diaphoretic, which means that it can induce perspiration and so cool the body in a heated environment.

Fennel Iced Tea

Fennel seeds or saunf are the most readily available and most efficient herbs for reducing body heat. Fennel seeds contain vitamin C, which helps cool the body, moisturize the skin, and strengthen the immune system.
