FOOD INGREDIENTS THAT KILLING YOUR SEX LIFE

Is your sex drive missing? It may start with what you consume. The foods we eat can alter our testosterone levels as we age, and testosterone is a critical fuel for our sexual drive.

To avoid becoming soft during your next romantic outing, consider cleaning up your diet by avoiding these meals.

Alcohol

Put away the booze. Drinking too much alcohol can affect your ability to develop an erection or even an orgasm. Some brews can trigger premature ejaculation. In order to have a good time between the sheets, limit yourself to two drinks and alternate with water.

Cheese

Not a fan of cheese? Because it’s made from milk, there’s a risk it contains synthetic hormones, which can disrupt estrogen and testosterone levels. Fortunately, there is a solution: Buy organic or unprocessed cheese from cows or other ruminants like goats or sheep.

Mint

We all know foul breath is a significant turnoff, especially when you’re dating. But don’t use mint as a quick fix. Mint’s menthol has been linked to lower testosterone levels, so if you’re worried about not receiving enough testosterone, avoid it. Of course, menthol in cigarettes and e-cigarettes is also harmful, but you already knew that.

Processed Food

Most canned foods, especially soups, are heavy in salt. High salt intake can lead to high blood pressure, limiting blood supply to the sex organs. However, if a better sex drive is your major motivation, then steer away from the high-sodium things.

Processed Meats

Premade deli meats like sausage, hot dogs, and hamburgers are loaded with hormones, preservatives, antibiotics, and sodium. These inferior meats can create hormonal imbalances and, as previously said, raise blood pressure. (WHO says they raise the risk of bowel cancer.) To keep the mood alive, choose leaner meats like chicken or turkey.

Smelly vegetables

You can get a weird stench from certain foods including asparagus, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts. While bad breath doesn’t necessarily destroy your sex drive, it can overwhelm the senses, which isn’t ideal when it comes to seduction.

Microwave popcorn

Date night. You’ve chosen dinner and a film. Isn’t sharing a tub of popcorn a given? Not quite—it may ruin the vibe. Perfluorooctanoic acid is discovered in the bag liner of microwaved popcorn. It has been related to reduced sex drive and long-term prostate issues.

Diet Soda

Just because it says “diet” doesn’t imply it’s healthy. Diet sodas include aspartame, an artificial sweetener. It’s unclear whether artificial sweeteners are better for you than sugar, but there’s a potential they could impact serotonin levels, a critical neurotransmitter thought to help regulate mood.
